The current-generation Kia Sportage has obtained a new gravity trim for its final model year in domestic South Korea. The latest cuisine of the compact car gained an assortment of dark design accents. And in the same way as those of the Mohave Gravity launched earlier this year.
Fifth-Generation Kia Sportage Report
The fifth-generation model of the compact crossover will debt in April 2021 according to reports. The report recently published by “The Korean Car Blog” comes approximately two weeks after the world premiere of the Sportage’s cousin, the revamped Hyundai Tucson. While the latter looks bolder than ever.
At this point, it is not clear which styling direction its platform-sharing sibling is going to take. It was recently spotted while undergoing testing, but the heavy camouflage obstructed the view.
This new generation is said to go by the “NQ5” codename. And it is rumored that it is to adopt a fresh design that could be previewed by a concept. This shouldn’t be such a big surprise as Hyundai did the same with the new Tucson model by revealing the Vision T in November 2019, before bringing out the production model on Sep 14.
It is however believed that Kia had to push back the launching of the car. And is engineering the model with two wheelbase configurations. With the LWB catering to auto markets where legroom is a priority.
Engine and Powertrain
Yo need to expect a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel engines with front and all-wheel drive and also a mild-hybrid technology. Hyundai offers a revamped model 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch auto transmissions. And it plans to put the plug-in hybrid with an electrified 1.6-liter delivering a combined hp for sale.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson has a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter which produces an estimated 190 hp which is also 152 kilowatts. And a torque of 12 pound-feet which is also 260 Newton-meters for the U.S market. There’s also going to be an available hybrid 1.6-liter which is rated at 230 hp and also the plug-in hybrid stated earlier.
Meanwhile, we are hoping to see more prototypes of the 2022 Kia Sportage in the upcoming months. We are anxious to find out if some of the striking Futuron crossover design traits that we see last November will somehow correspond with the new compact crossover.
