We knew that the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is going to be an awesome car when Lego added the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to its line-up back in 2019.
Basically, it was the most less expensive way to own a ZR1- and an exciting one for that matter. However, the stock Lego model was not enough for one automotive enthusiast, so he had to take things to a higher level.
Lego Corvette ZR1 (Electric) with Manual Gearbox
The individual from the video above bought a 2019 Corvette ZR1 and however added a fully functional electric powertrain. This consists of a small DC electric motor and a four-speed manual gearbox. You can now row your own gears on a Lego car.
In the video, the project creator puts in detail what he has done so far and demonstrates how the ignition of the car and its transmission works. You actually have to turn on the engine of the little ZR1, and this is a process that is accompanied by the roaring sound recorded by a real Corvette-sourced V8.
In the Lego World Corvette Exists
If you think about it for a while, this car has the layout of a mid-engine. And this should boost it in the Lego World. And the best probable part is that you can monitor the car’s powertrain’s behavior. This is all thanks to wheel-mounted sensors and special software. Meanwhile, there is an instrument cluster that provides information about the car. However, its unfortunately not an actual dyno and we don’t get to see it’s powertrain output.
Just as one of the commenters said in the video, “everything about this is absolutely incredible” and ” the attention to detail is just astounding.” With what we just saw, we can’t agree more, and also we are impatient as we can’t wait to see more videos detailing the project.
