The Next-generation Infiniti Qx60 is on its way. However, before it’s production is complete, the Japanese automaker decides to show off the QX60 Monograph, a close-production concept of the three-row SUV.
Next-Generation Infiniti Qx60 Preview
Unfortunately, Infiniti hasn’t shown us the interior of the QX60 yet. The Monograph Infiniti QX60 is however signaling that the next-generation SUV will take on a sleek design.
The grille of the concept SUV still has the trapezoidal shape which was seen across the lineup. And it adopts chrome styling in order to make the grille more pronounced.
The grille also obtains a bit bigger shape. At least from what the photographs suggest, which is quite similar to other luxury vehicles on the market.
Infiniti Qx60 Headlights
The headlights of the next-generation Infiniti QX60 has a significantly more aggressive look as it has become narrower. The daytime running lights join the grille at the top edges on each of the car sides, just as on the 2020 QX60.
The lower intakes of the car are also similar, but this concept drops the lower lights. The QX60 Monograph is blinded in sheer surfaces beyond subtle lines on the hood and rear corner, devoid of many lines, thereby giving the SUV a smart and clean futuristic look.
Retracting door handles on the concept blends into the smooth surface, just similar to the taillights which lie flush with the body. Most significantly, the QX60 Monograph didn’t include the kinked window line on the D-pillar, and this has been a design staple in Infiniti SUVs. And with that, this concept adopts a floating roofline, thus making this SUV dramatic and attractive.
More Notable Features and Changes
The proportion of the concept gives it a more trucklike feel compared to the outgoing model. The square hood of the car’s windshield now appears bigger as the windshield line is pushed back. The hood is now less sloped downward at the grille, and this makes it look more stately and firmly imposed.
Even with all the notable changes made on the QX60, it’s appearance doesn’t deviate from the growing field of SUVs that much. As it looks alike when relating to other SUVs like “Range Rover Velar” and the “Lincoln Aviator”.
Engine and Transmission
The 2020 Infiniti QX60 is being powered by a V6 engine that makes 295 hp. And it is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). But according to what we are speculating, it’s powertrain is likely going to change for 2021. We shouldn’t be surprised if the Japanese automaker decides to give the 2021 QX60 the variable compression turbocharged four-cylinder engine or the 400 hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine from the Q50 Red Sport.
However, whatever the powertrain of the new engine is, we’ll expect it to be mated to either a seven or an eight-speed auto transmission.
Next-generation Infiniti QX60 Pricing
The pricing for the 2021 Infiniti QX60 hasn’t been released yet. But it is however anticipated to begin from the range of $45,000 to about $55,000.
Both it’s revelation and sale will take place in 2021.
