Jeep Wrangler 392 is as fun to drive as we could have possibly had in mind.
Jeep Wrangler 392 Overview
Ford introduced the Shelby Cobra concept car a long time ago. With the way Jeep is trending today, you will know that they are about to shake the ground on its competitors.
Engine and Transmission
The Jeep Wrangler 392 possesses a V8-powered engine. This awesome off-road Jeep Wrangler is capable of releasing 450 horsepower which makes it a complete badass. Meanwhile, Jeep claims that the 392 will be able to elevate from 0-60 mph in less than five seconds.
This might place it in lockstep with the Grand Cherokee SRT, this car is able to reach 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds. And it also boasts that 6.4 liter V8. The Jeep Wrangler possesses a torque of 450 pound-feet of torque on tap. With this, the Wrangler is ready to consume the lunch of any off-roader on the market-with the rumored Bronco Raptor inclusive. The V8 Jeep feels like it could shift the rotation of the earth just a tiny bit, accompanied by a gruff, snort exhaust note.
Before we get over-excited about the Jeep Wrangler, there’s a caution though. As the Wrangler 392 is a concept, not all of its systems are ready for prime time. In that vein, the firmness control requires some calibrating. Stepping the throttle at any speed results in a flickering small dash light and what feels like a little reduced power output. However, rolling into the go-pedal slowly meant we could not command a kick down from the 8-speed auto transmission, blunting the power delivery a bit.
The Old Shelby
When talking about the old Shelby. It is a one-off, hand-assembled machine that shared absolutely practically nothing with existing Ford vehicles. Most of what makes up the Jeep Wrangler 392 came from the parts bin: the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 was donated by SRT. And the engineers made some modifications to the body shell of the stock Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Even at that, opportunities to have a ride on vehicles don’t come quite often.
Agile and Strong
The amazing nature of the Wrangler 392 is not limited just to the powertrain. Its boldest styling feature comes through the custom red interior, and this looks great cast against the restrained exterior. It has bedlock wheels and 37-inch tires, and together with a 2-inch suspension lift. And the Jeep is 13.3 inches off ground clearance.
