We have the now-familiar C8 Corvette first up, and ready to take on its overtaker and show it what a mid-engine is capable of doing.

Hennessy Corvette: Here Is Proof That Additional Horsepower Fixes All

Meanwhile, as we know, the familiar C8 Corvette is powered by the 6.2 liter LT2 V8 which ejects 490 hp which is also 365 kW, and a torque of 465 lb-ft which is also 630 Nm. This engine is an evolution of the LT1 which was in the previous generation C7 Corvette Stingray. It only has an available transmission of an 8-speed dual-clutch which was built by Tremec. And it gives the C8 a massive advantage in performance over the previous C7 Corvette’s auto.
Henessy has however been working on building tuning packages for the C8 Corvettes. And for the new bargain supercar from Detroit, we expect big power numbers.

The Hennessy C7 Corvette Z06 which was featured in this video is not an ordinary Corvette, and it benefits from Henessy’s HPE850 package. Just as the name suggests, the package elevates the horsepower from 650 hp all the way up to 850 hp. This achievement is all thanks to a totally rebuilt cylinder head that increases airflow. It doesn’t just increase the airflow, but it also replaces things like valves, valve springs, and lifts. There is also a smaller pulley to increase boost and long tube headers with high flow catalytic converters. This is to allow the engine to breathe more deeply.

It is clear that an additional 350 horsepower can overcome the superior engineering and drivetrain of the new C8 Corvette when it comes to the final race. However, we expect the C8 Corvette to have its revenge. But that will be when Henessy throws an extra couple of horsepowers in it. Because we clearly know that it can never be able to beat the C7 just like this.
