2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Specs, Features, Interiors, Exteriors, Photos, and Price

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a new small SUV made by Chevy in an outstanding and shiny way. Its off-road capability is really amazing.

Overview of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

The all-new Trailblazer will join the carmaker’s crossover family sitting in between Equinox and the Trax when it comes to size.

2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer
The 2021 Trailblazer’s nameplate disappeared in the United States in 2009. It will now arrive with trim levels.
It will also come with a set of standard safety features.

Which includes an automatic emergency braking and a lane-keep assist and also a lane departure warning. It also has some optional extras which include adaptative cruise control. It also has a high-def rear-view camera that will aid drivers who find it hard to park.

Other Models

Chevrolet already has the Trax which is a subcompact crossover. It has witnessed respectable sales over the years. Just as the sales of the subcompact began to boom in the market, chevy now decides to introduce another small crossover that will be sold alongside the Trax.

As he believes there’s room for another crossover,  which is the reason for the introduction of the new 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

This time the new version of the Trailblazer isn’t a truck-based type os SUV. Unlike the last time. There will also be no Corvette-engine SS model in its future. Rather it will be similar to the reimagined Blazer.

Reusing the name of the old blazer for this new small crossover might help it a little in getting out of the gate. And with a spring in its step. This is all thanks to the bit recognition of the name by the customers.

It is 5.9 inches longer than the former and 9.6 inches shorter than the latter in base trim. Though it is smaller than the Equinox and not that much larger than a Trax.

The Encore GX and the Trailblazer share a lot underneath the sheet metal, but however, the Trailblazer is meant to be the youthful adventurous car. With its faux off-road Activ trim and the sporty RX trim. While the Buick is positioned as the premium option for adults.

The Powertrain Of The Chevrolet Trailblazer

The powertrain story of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is not simple and clearcut like others. This is because Chevy offered its customers two different three-cylinder engine options.

Chevy upgraded to a 1.3-liter which releases 155 horsepower and a 174 lb-ft of torque. While the base engine is a 1.2-liter, and it makes 137 horsepower with a 162 pound-feet of torque.

In each case, you get a CVT with a standard engine that comes with a front-wheel-drive.
However, an All-Wheel-Drive is available. But it is hooked with a nine-speed Automatic transmission and is only paired with a 1.3-liter engine. The Trailblazer also features two transmissions on top of the two engine choices.

We would have assumed that the 1.2-liter will be more efficient as it has less power and is a smaller fraction. But seeing that it possesses a front-wheel-drive proved us wrong. The Trailblazer of the 1.2-liter fuel economy is rated:
City-28 Miles per-gallon
Highway-31 Miles per-gallon
And 29 Mpg when combined.
While the more powerful front-wheel-drive is rated:
City-29 Mpg
Highway-33 Mpg
And 31 Mpg when combined.
But the All-Wheel-Drive and the Nine-speed automatic transmission drops the fuel economy to:
City-26 Mpg
Highway-33 Mpg
Combined-31 Mpg
More power and better fuel economy will bring a win-win situation. But the price of the cheapest 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer starts from $19,995, while the cheapest front-wheel-drive is $25,955.
The 1.3 liter comes with a great advantage as it comes with an electric oil pump, an offset crank, electric turbo wastegate, and electric brake booster.

2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Exterior Styling

The exterior styling of the Trailblazer improved a lot compared to that of the Trax. The design is drastically changed depending on its trim level.

The standouts are the RS and Activ trim. Compared to the L, LS, and LT trims.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer is a styling package similar to other RS trims from Chevy. It gets a 17-inches wheel with “sports terrain” tires which are meant to maintain a regular all-season tread design for on-road comfort but appear tough in the lookout. Chevy added a little underbody protection.

Its sharp look is what pleases us the most. It has a contrasting white roof and mirror caps is what increases its appearance and make it more glamouring. The shape of the rear hatch makes it outstanding with its stylish LED lights.

2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Interior Appearance

It has a 7-inch infotainment screen that comes standard with an optional 8-inch. Both of them feature an Apple CarPlay and a wireless Android Auto but also accept a traditional wired connection. The dash is not fully digital. However, a small screen between the speedo and tach can cycle through a number of information readouts.

In the Activ, the 10-way power seat allows for a long-range of movement. The front seats don’t offer much support from the bolsters but are comfortable enough. The back is very pleasant to seat at as it has legroom of 39.4 inches which is 0.5 inches less than the Equinox. It also provides a couple of USB outlets for the back seat.

Cargo Space

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer has an impressive cargo space as it possesses 25.3 cubic feet behind the second row.

Cargo Space when Folded

The Chevrolet Trailblazer’s passenger seat also folds flat to give space for extra-long items.

Driving Modes

There are only available few driving modes available in the  2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer which include Normal, Sport, Snow, and AWD(All-Wheel-Drive). It requires a button to activate the all-wheel driving mode which is quite off. As most modern cars can gulf out the most efficient method of power on their own.
