2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. The 2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing promises to be one of the hottest and most track-ready sports sedans that you can ever get on the market.
2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing hopes that it will make a name for itself in competition with the most extreme M-division, AMG, and Audi RS models.
To ensure the Blackwing version of the CT5 is up for the fight. 2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will suit an upgrade version of the CTS-V’s 6.2 liters supercharged V-8, and not the 550-hp twin-turbo 4.2 liter Blackwing V-8.
We are looking forward to the engine making 650 horsepower and it will as well be available with a 10-speed automatic or even a six-speed manual.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Even if Cadillac calls it the CT5-V Blackwing, we are not expecting the just-developed twin-turbo Blackwing V-8 from the CT6-V to be provided under the vented hood of the car.
Rather, an upgraded version of the CTS-V’s 650-hp, 6.2 liter V-8 will pair to either a 6-speed manual or even a 10-speed automatic. This is just the same engine that powers the great Chevy Camaro ZL- 1.
We have not really had the chance to drive the latest CT5-V Blackwing, however initial impressions of the standard CT5-V point to a sharp-handling sedan which should upgrade even further once Cadillac tacks on every of the performance suspension bits that will no doubt be standard on the Blackwing model.
Comfort, Interior, and Cargo
2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will distribute its cabin with the standard CT5, which will now give the performance sedan a great and spacious interior with so many features and details.
We have seen the normal CT5’s cabin to be a combination of materials. Where some are decidedly down the market, some are fine, however, Cadillac will dress the CT5-V Blackwing hopefully to suit its much higher entry price better.
While the trunk of the Blackwing might have the same size and shape as the normal CT5’s. And it is very possible that Cadillac may remove the folding feature of the rear seat to assist in improving structural rigidity.
Well, we will all get to know more when the on-sale date of the car is getting closer. Yet, we fit 5 carry-on cases inside the normal CT5’s trunk and that is really a nice amount of cargo space.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The 2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing has really not been crash-tested by either the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Also, the common CT5 has not undergone such testing yet.
Also, we ex[pect a host of driver-assistance features to be available, both as optional and standard. The Key safety features might include:
- Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode.
- Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Price
We are not so sure how the 2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will equip or how much it will cost. Nor do we have any information on available option packages or even available performance-enhancing features. We presume that the car will start at a price of $85,000.
However, we will have to hold off on choosing any potential options. Until nearer to the on-sale date of the car. If you want something smaller and cheaper, you can go for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing.
