M3 Engine and Transmission
The 2021 BMW M3 powertrain is powered by BMW’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. The mill makes 473 horsepower which is also 352 kilowatts and 406 pound-feet which is also 550 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The M3 Competition makes use of the same mill. But just that it makes 503 horsepower which also 375 kilowatts, and a torque of 495 pound-feet which is also 649 Newton-meters (NM). For the M3, a six-speed manual is standard. While the only available gearbox available for the Competition model is an eight-speed automatic.
